[H:3][M:0] Joined: Aug 2004 Gender: Female Posts: 1,017 Karma: 12 Fall in Love on Valentine's Day Challenge! « Thread Started on Dec 21, 2005, 12:44pm » Fall in Love on Valentine's Day The Jan-Feb 2006 Writing Challenge is to write a story to include: 1. Both Hermione and Draco having a gloomy Valentine's Day. 2. The setting may be at Hogwarts or outside of Hogwarts (for a post-Hogwarts story). 3. For a story at Hogwarts, you must include a small shop/cafe/whatever at Hogsmeade that both Draco and Hermione will go into. This must be a new place (no Zonko's or Honeydukes, etc.). 4. For a story out of Hogwarts, you must include a Wizarding place that they will both go to. This must be a new place (no Diagon Alley, The Leaky Cauldron, etc.). 5. Either of them will meet a small boy/girl, and this child will play a major role in the story. 6. Bonus points for extra creativity for using any of the following phrases but they are not required. A good, creative story will always count much stronger than any bonus. * "I almost liked that, but it's too corny." * "This will be our secret. Just ours." * "I liked you before...you just, well, didn't see it." 7. Bonus points for extra creativity for using any of the following things but they are not required. A good, creative story will always count much stronger than any bonus. * Useless broomstick * Stuffed spider * Old sneakers Rules: 1. This is a one-shot challenge. 2. The story must contain the Draco/Hermione pair-up. No other pair-ups must be included. 3. It should consist of a minimum of 750 words and a maximum of 2000. 4. Story rating must be from G up to PG-13 only. 5. The categories for judging are Best Overall and Best Romance. Added awards will be given if necessary. 6. One entry per person only. 7. To submit your story, please send it as an attachment in an e-mail to: glaciers_geysers(at)yahoo(dot)com with Writing Challenge as the subject. Also include these information: Name: Meeting Place: Title: No. of words: Deadline of submission is on February 1, 2006. Note: We encourage all to join!! thank you!! All participants will receive 5 points each. Please do forgive me for the veeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy long delay with the winners. I've asked some friends (who are really great writers) to read and judge it and I haven't received every vote, so...please wait...:) Anyways, are you willing to write for another challenge? It's just that what with the summer coming up, I'm planning on making another challenge, which will be a longer one (in more ways than one). Whatcha think?
